Poetry Symposium 2018 – Pierce Morton

As part of UCD’s poetry symposium last week, we were thrilled to be able to hear what UCD’s Creative Writing MA students have been tinkering with.

Pierce Morton is an Australia occupant, currently residing in Ireland. He is enjoying the literary world of Dublin and hopes to contribute with a blend of poetry and prose.

Poetry Symposium 2018 – Siobhan Mac Mahon

As part of UCD’s poetry symposium last week, we were thrilled to be able to hear what UCD’s Creative Writing MA students have been tinkering with.

Siobhan Mac Mahon has been performing her poetry and creating Spoken Word projects for many years, mainly in the UK, combining Poetry with music, dance and with film. Winner of the 2017 WOMAD poetry slam, the Ilkley Literature Festival open Mic and the Sheffield, Off the Shelf Literary Festival open mic. Her poetry has been published both online and in print – most recently in a Bloodaxe Anthology – Hallelujah for 50 Foot Women.

Amy is from Kildare and is currently co-editor of the HCE Review. Amy’s writing tends towards the darker side. She enjoys writing fiction, dark of course, and some dystopia, but of late has been writing poetry. And liking it! Her poems, in no particular order, are “Archaeology,” “Astroturfing,” and “Conditioned.”

Jamie Stedmond is a young Irish writer, currently based in Dublin. Jamie is pursuing an MA in Creative Writing at University College Dublin. His stories and poems are previously published or forthcoming in Occulum, The Bohemyth, Dodging the Rain, The Cabinet of Heed, and other journals in Ireland and abroad. He tweets @JamieStedmond. Jamie’s two featured poems are “As Crabs Dance” followed by “Potholing.”
